| Pastor Harvey "Chip" Rice
Harvey Rice Jr., affectionately known as Chip, is a native of East
Orange, NJ., and grew up in Salisbury, NC. He is the son of
Bishop Harvey & Mrs. Sadie Victoria Rice.
Pastor Rice was best known during his collegiate years as one of the
hottest party DJ’s in the triad before giving his life to Jesus
Christ on August 26, 1992.
Recognizing his gifting, Pastor Rice, aka. The Minister of Music, stayed in the
music field and started hosting WNAA’s morning program,
“The First Light”. His impact is both celebrated and
riveting, as he seeks to reach all types of audiences. Young, old,
various Races, saved and unsaved all tuned in to hear what Chip would
say next. His main goal has been and will always be to present
Jesus Christ in a dynamic, yet fun and relevant way in the hopes that
the listener will develop a greater relationship with God.
Pastor Rice has authored the book: The
Cup: What They Probably Didn’t
Tell You About Salvation. This book talks about the
temptations of Jesus and how they relate to us in today’s
world. It’s a great source of information and inspiration
for Believers and the “Un-Churched”. He also
facilitates dynamic seminars such as: “The Purpose of Music”; and the
challenging, eye-opening “Things
you should know Before
you take off your Underwear.”
Pastor Rice is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural &
Technical State University (A&T) with a degree in Communications
and Business Administration. He currently serves as the Executive
Pastor of Maranatha Fellowship Church in High Point, NC, under the
leadership of Apostle Otis Lockett Sr.
Pastor Rice is the proud husband of Thursday Rice and father of two
beautiful children, Jasmine and Ethan.
